Flutter™ for cross-platform mobile apps

Build Android and iOS apps from one shared codebase, so you launch on both platforms faster with a consistent experience.

How we use it

Flutter is our usual choice for cross-platform apps with branded, custom interfaces. One Dart codebase produces native Android and iOS builds, and because Flutter draws its own widgets, screens look the same everywhere.

What Flutter is, and why we often recommend it

Flutter is a free, open-source toolkit for building mobile apps. Instead of writing one app for Android and another for iPhone, we write the app once and Flutter turns it into both. For you, that means one team, one budget and new features reaching Android and iOS users on the same day.

For most startup and business apps, two native codebases double the effort without improving the result. Flutter lets one team ship Android and iOS together with consistent, custom-branded layouts.

Use cases

What we build with Flutter

  • Delivery apps

Customer, store and delivery partner apps with live tracking.

  • Booking and on-demand apps

Slot booking, provider matching and in-app payments.

  • Retail and commerce apps

Catalogues, carts, UPI checkout and order history.

  • Fintech front ends

Onboarding, KYC capture and dashboards with secure storage.

  • Field-force apps

Offline-first order taking, visits and attendance.

Why Flutter matters for your app

  • One codebase, two platforms

Features and fixes reach Android and iOS users together, from one team and one budget.

  • Your brand on every phone

Custom designs look the same on every device, so customers get one consistent experience.

  • Smooth on modest phones

Compiled code keeps scrolling and animation smooth on the budget phones many customers use, when the app is built carefully.

  • A shorter path to launch

Shared screens and business rules shorten the path from design to both app stores.

When we would not recommend Flutter

  • Your team already works in React: React Native lets your web developers share code and skills, which usually outweighs Flutter's advantages.
  • The app leans on platform-specific features: heavy use of Apple Watch, widgets or unusual hardware can be simpler in native Kotlin or Swift.
  • Every megabyte counts: a Flutter app has a larger minimum download size than a basic native app.
  • You plan to hire an in-house team: there are fewer Dart developers than JavaScript developers, and some device features need native plugins, so plan for both skills.

Plain-English glossary

Flutter terms, in plain English

Cross-platform app
One app written once and released on both Android and iOS. You pay for one build instead of two, and customers on either phone get the same features at the same time.
Codebase
All the source code behind an app. With a single Flutter codebase, a fix or new feature is written once, tested once and shipped to both app stores.
Plugin
A ready-made connector that lets a Flutter app use phone features or services such as the camera, maps or Razorpay checkout. Where no reliable plugin exists, we write a small native module.
Android App Bundle
The format Google Play uses to deliver apps. Each phone downloads only the parts it needs, which keeps the download smaller for customers with limited storage or data.

Services

Flutter across our services

  • Flutter development

Android and iOS apps from one Dart codebase, built by engineers who know when Flutter is the right call and when native code is needed.

  • Mobile app development

Native and cross-platform Android and iOS apps, from first release through regular store updates, built by our in-house designers and engineers.

  • Android app development

Native Android apps in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, designed for entry-level phones, patchy networks and the background limits of popular Android brands.

  • iOS app development

Native iPhone and iPad apps in Swift and SwiftUI, built to Apple's review guidelines and privacy rules and tested on the devices your customers use.

Solutions

Solutions we often build in Flutter

  • Grocery delivery app development

Grocery delivery apps for supermarkets, kirana chains and dark stores, with slots or express delivery, substitutions, picking and live tracking.

  • Food delivery app development

Food ordering and delivery apps for restaurants, chains and cloud kitchens, with menus and add-ons, kitchen displays, prep-time ETAs and delivery tracking.

  • Taxi booking app development

Rider app, driver app, dispatch engine and admin console for cab, auto, bike taxi, rental and outstation services, with UPI, cash and live tracking.

  • E-commerce app development

Android and iOS shopping apps with quick browsing, UPI checkout and push notifications, sharing one backend with your website.

  • Doctor appointment app development

Appointment apps for clinics, polyclinics and hospital OPDs with slot and token booking, live queue status, reminders, prepayment and a reception console.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does a Flutter app run well on budget Android phones?

It can, with care. We test on inexpensive Android phones from early in the project, keep images and animations in check, avoid unnecessary widget rebuilds and publish Android App Bundles so each phone downloads only what it needs. Offline caching helps on patchy networks. Slowness usually comes from how an app is built, not from Flutter itself.

Can a Flutter app use Bluetooth printers, maps and payment SDKs?

Yes. Flutter has maintained plugins for maps, camera, location, notifications, biometrics and payment SDKs such as Razorpay. For Bluetooth thermal printers or barcode scanners, we use a reliable existing plugin or write a small native module in Kotlin or Swift. Every critical device integration is checked during discovery, before the build plan is fixed.

Will it be hard to find developers to maintain our Flutter app later?

Flutter developers are widely available in India, though the pool is smaller than for JavaScript, so it is worth planning for. We reduce the risk by following common architecture patterns, writing documentation and tests, and keeping dependencies current. If you plan an in-house team, we onboard your developers during handover.
