Cost depends on
  • Product library size
  • Factory integration
  • Client-facing experience

How to start

Tell us what you need in your own words. You talk to the developers who would build it and get a written, line-item estimate.

Design studios need more than a drawing tool

Architecture and interior design firms spend a surprising share of time outside design: re-sending revised drawings, rebuilding quotations when a client changes a laminate, chasing approvals on WhatsApp, and coordinating carpenters, factories and site teams.

We build tools for that operational side. For turnkey interior and modular kitchen businesses, the core is usually a quotation engine tied to a product library, which then drives factory orders and site schedules. For architecture practices, it is more often drawing version control, client approvals and fee billing by project stage.

Challenges

What slows design-led businesses down

  1. Quotation rework

Every material or layout change means rebuilding a spreadsheet quote and re-checking margins.

  2. Approval confusion

Clients approve an old version of a drawing, and the site builds from it.

  3. Production hand-off

Approved designs are re-entered for factory cutting lists and vendor orders, introducing errors.

  4. Site coordination

Carpenters, electricians and vendors work to schedules kept in one person's head.

Software for studios and turnkey firms

  • Leads and consultations

Enquiries from ads and showrooms, consultation slots and site measurement visits.

  • Quotation builder

Room-wise quotes from a library of modules, finishes and hardware, with margin checks.

  • Design approvals

Versioned drawings and renders, client comments and recorded sign-off before production.

  • Production and vendor orders

Approved quotes converted into factory orders, cutting lists and purchase orders.

  • Site execution and billing

Trade-wise task schedules, photo updates for clients and milestone payment requests.

How it works

How a modular interior project moves from quote to handover

  1. Designer

Step 1: Consultation and site measurement

An enquiry becomes a consultation slot, and the measurement visit records room dimensions directly in the app.

  2. Quotation builder

Step 2: Room-wise quote from your product library

Modules, finishes and hardware are picked from the library; prices update as sizes change and margins are checked before sharing.

  3. Client portal

Step 3: Client approves a numbered design version

Drawings and renders are shared as versions, and the client's sign-off is recorded against the exact version they saw.

  4. Production team

Step 4: Factory order and cutting list

The approved quote becomes a factory order with cutting and hardware lists, without anyone re-entering it.

  5. Site supervisor

Step 5: Site work scheduled by trade

Carpentry, electrical and painting tasks follow one schedule, and photo updates keep the client informed.

  6. Accounts

Step 6: Milestone billing and handover

Payment requests go out at agreed milestones, and a handover checklist closes the project cleanly.

Plain-English glossary

Design-business software terms, explained

Product library
Your structured list of cabinet modules, shutters, finishes and hardware with size-based prices. It lets a quote recalculate instantly when a client changes a laminate or a width.
Cutting list
The panel sizes a factory must cut for a job, generated from the approved design. Producing it from the same data as the quote removes costly re-entry mistakes.
Drawing version control
Numbering every revision and keeping its history, so everyone can see which drawing is current. Client approvals are then tied to a specific version, not a forwarded image.
Bill of materials (BOM)
Every panel, hinge, handle and accessory a job needs, with quantities. It drives purchasing and lets you check margins before production starts.

Tools for designers, clients and the factory floor

  • Architecture and interior design software designer app cart on a tablet, with 4 items and the order total
Designer app. Designers build room-wise quotes from your product library on a tablet, and the total and margin update as they change sizes or finishes.
  • Architecture and interior design software client portal product page on a phone, for master bedroom, with price and options
Client portal. Clients review the current drawing and its price, comment on it and approve it, and the approval is recorded against that exact version.
  • Architecture and interior design software factory dashboard production queue table in a web browser
Factory dashboard. The factory works from cutting lists generated from approved designs, so what is built matches what the client signed off.

Cost drivers

Estimating software for design firms

  1. Product library size

Modular businesses with thousands of SKUs and pricing rules need structured catalogue tools.

  2. Factory integration

Exporting cutting lists to panel-saw or nesting software adds format-specific work.

  3. Client-facing experience

A branded client portal with 3D viewing costs more than internal-only tools.

Estimates are written from your scope, with the effort and assumptions behind each line item.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can the quotation builder handle modular kitchens and wardrobes?

Yes. We model a product library of cabinet modules, shutters, finishes, hardware and accessories with dimension-based pricing, so the quote updates as a designer changes sizes or materials. Rules catch invalid combinations, such as a hinge that does not suit a shutter type. Once approved, the same data generates bills of material and cutting lists for your factory or vendor, avoiding re-entry and its errors.

Can generative AI create design concepts for our clients?

It can help early on: mood boards, style variations of a room photo, or quick concept visuals to start a conversation. It does not produce accurate, buildable drawings with correct dimensions, so we position it as an ideation aid inside the designer's workflow, not a replacement for design work. Generated images are clearly labelled, the designer decides what reaches the client, and we check the image model's terms for commercial use.

Do you integrate with AutoCAD or SketchUp?

Usually through files rather than deep plug-ins. Designers upload PDFs, DWG drawings, SketchUp models or exported renders to the project, where we manage versions, comments and approvals. For viewing 3D models in a browser, we convert exports to web-friendly formats. Plug-in development inside CAD tools is possible but specialised, so we scope it separately after checking the tool's extension options.
