How to start

Tell us what you need in your own words. You talk to the developers who would build it and get a written, line-item estimate.

Big-ticket, configurable and slow to deliver

Furniture buyers choose fabrics, finishes and dimensions, often visit a showroom before paying, and wait weeks for made-to-order pieces. Delivery needs two people, a time slot and sometimes assembly, and a scratched item means a costly return.

We build furniture commerce around those realities: configurators that price options correctly, order tracking through production stages, delivery and installation scheduling, and a lead-to-order flow for showroom visits and custom quotes.

Challenges

Where furniture sellers struggle online

  1. Option pricing

Fabric, finish and size combinations multiply into thousands of variants.

  2. Made-to-order visibility

Customers call repeatedly to ask where their order is in production.

  3. Bulky logistics

Standard courier flows do not handle two-person delivery, lift access or assembly.

  4. Showroom and web disconnect

Leads from store visits and website enquiries sit in separate places.

Furniture commerce features

  • Product configurators

Pick fabric, finish and size with live price and image updates.

  • Production stage tracking

Status from confirmed to cutting, upholstery, QC and dispatch.

  • Delivery and assembly slots

Customers choose slots; teams get routes and job sheets.

  • Quotes for custom pieces

Enquiries become quotes with drawings and advance payment links.

  • 3D and AR previews

Product previews from 3D models where you have them, using standard web viewers.

How it works

How a made-to-order sofa travels from showroom to living room

Each order carries its specification, payments and production stage, so nobody needs to call and ask.

  1. Configurator

Step 1: Buyer configures the piece

Fabric, finish and size are chosen online or with showroom staff, with live price and image updates.

  2. Customer

Step 2: Advance payment confirms the order

An advance by UPI, card or net banking locks the specification; the balance is due before dispatch or at delivery.

  3. Factory

Step 3: Specification sheet goes to the workshop

The configurator produces a clear spec sheet, so the workshop builds exactly what was sold.

  4. Order system

Step 4: Production updates reach the customer

Cutting, upholstery, quality check and dispatch updates go out on WhatsApp or email automatically.

  5. Delivery team

Step 5: Delivery and assembly slot booked

A two-person team gets the route, job sheet and access notes such as lift or stairs.

  6. Delivery team

Step 6: Handover with photos and sign-off

The team records photos and the customer's sign-off, and collects any balance on the spot.

Plain-English glossary

Furniture commerce terms, in plain English

Product configurator
The tool where buyers pick options such as fabric, finish and size and watch the price change. Its rules hide combinations your workshop cannot make, so nothing impossible gets sold.
Made-to-order
Pieces built only after the customer confirms and pays an advance. Because no finished stock exists yet, the software tracks each order through production instead of through a warehouse.
Spec sheet
The production document listing every option the customer chose. Generating it from the order removes the retyping that leads to the wrong fabric or size.
AR preview
Augmented reality places a 3D model of the product in the customer's room through their phone camera. It depends on accurate 3D models, which are usually the larger cost.

Screens for buyers and delivery teams

  • Furniture and home decor software shopper website product page in a web browser
Shopper website. Buyers choose fabric, finish and size with the price updating live, and option combinations the workshop cannot build are never offered.
  • Furniture and home decor software customer order page order tracking on a phone, with live status steps
Customer order page. Customers follow their made-to-order piece through each production stage, which answers the question behind most furniture support calls.
  • Furniture and home decor software delivery team app tomorrow's jobs on a phone, with 3 entries
Delivery team app. Delivery teams see each job with access notes and any balance to collect, then close it with photos and the customer's sign-off.

Cost drivers

What sets the budget for furniture software

  1. Configuration rules

Complex option dependencies and pricing formulas need modelling and testing.

  2. 3D content

Creating 3D models for each product is usually a separate cost from the software.

  3. Delivery operations

In-house delivery teams need route and job apps; courier handover is simpler.

Estimates are written from your scope, with the effort and assumptions behind each line item.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do product configurators handle pricing?

We model each option, such as fabric grade, finish, size and add-ons, with its price effect and any restrictions, for example a fabric not offered on a certain frame. The configurator calculates the total live and generates a clear specification sheet for production. Rules are managed in the admin panel, so merchandisers can add fabrics or change prices without developer help.

Is AR room visualisation worth building?

It depends on your products and whether you already have 3D models. Standard web technologies can display 3D models and, on supported phones, place them in a room using the device's AR features. The larger cost is usually producing accurate 3D models for each product. We often suggest starting with top-selling items and measuring whether shoppers use it before extending it across the catalogue.

Can customers pay an advance now and the balance on delivery?

Yes. For made-to-order furniture we set up partial payments: an advance at order time through UPI, card or net banking, and the balance collected by payment link before dispatch or at delivery. The order record tracks what is paid and due, and invoices show the full amount with GST. EMI options through your gateway can be offered on the advance or on the full amount.
